Applications for DELE exam registration must be submitted using the means provided by the Cervantes Institute within the established deadlines. Candidates register in one of two ways:
- Candidates in Spain register online using this website (except DELE for students).
- Candidates in other countries register at the testing centre.
Registration fees are paid as determined by the Cervantes Institute (electronically for online registration) or the respective testing centre (in all cases candidates’ payment must specify ‘DELE registration’, the exam date and level of the diploma sought).
In addition to mandatory personal data, candidates must furnish a personal email address to register. That email account, which the candidate must ensure is enabled and operational, will be used (if so decided by the DELE testing centre or the Cervantes Institute) to convey information on all Cervantes Institute, DELE diploma and exam particulars, as well as exam results and decisions on requests to review results, as appropriate.
When registering minors or persons lacking legal capacity, parents, tutors or legal representatives must furnish a separate email address for each candidate registered.
Irrespective of the registration procedure used, candidates are bound to correct any errors in the personal data appearing in the slip received as substantiation of registration, as well as in the information on the level, date and place of the DELE exam chosen.
By paying registration fees candidates:
- accept the Cervantes Institute’s general conditions of sale and general and specific terms and conditions governing DELE diplomas;
- represent that they meet the administrative and financial requirements for award of the DELE diploma;
- commit to report to the exam with the documents substantiating compliance with those conditions, which include:
- the registration slip;
- their passport or official picture ID for identification purposes; and
- the notice of the exam issued by the centre where they registered.
Online registration procedure in Spain
- Candidates must register for the DELE exams and pay the respective fees online from their user account page on this website.
- Payment may be made by credit and debit cards using the Santander Elavon Merchant Services VPOS system.

Registration procedure at the testing centre (general DELE outside Spain and DELE for students)
To formalise registration in Cervantes Institute-accredited testing centres, candidates must furnish the following documents:
- Original and photocopy of passport or official picture ID showing name and surname, nationality and date and place of birth. The data furnished by candidates on the registration form must match the data in the aforementioned ID document.
- Document substantiating payment of registration fees.
Registration fees are paid using the means of payment determined by the testing centre. The respective voucher must specify ‘DELE registration’, the exam date and level of the diploma sought.
Where DELE exam registration is not formalised directly at the testing centre, valid registration is subject to furnishing the completed 2020 DELE registration form (see link under ‘Related files’) together with payment. Candidates are reminded that the form is the application only and does not substantiate registration, for which the registration slip is required.
