Overview of DELE examiner accreditation courses

To qualify for DELE examiner certification candidates must prove they have abilities specific to the administration and marking of oral expression and interaction tests for the respective exam level (DELE A1-A2, B1-B2, C1-C2 or A1-A2/B1 for students).

A series of  DELE examiner accreditation courses, in face-to-face, online and b-learning formats, have been established to guarantee suitable training in keeping with candidates’ needs:

  • DELE A1 and A2 examiner accreditation course.
  • DELE B1 and B2 examiner accreditation course.
  • DELE C1 and C2 examiner accreditation course.
  • DELE A1/B2 for students examiner accreditation course.

DELE examiner accreditation course objectives

All these courses pursue the same objectives, namely:

  • An understanding of the general premises underlying the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: Learning, Teaching, Assessment (CEFR) and its levels, as well as the DELE marking system.
  • Familiarity with exam formats and content.
  • An understanding of written and oral administration protocols.
  • Familiarity with marking scales and key concepts.
  • Precise and effective use of oral test marking criteria.

DELE examiner accreditation course content

All the courses are highly standardised and share the structure and content suited to each exam:

  • Introduction. Unit common to the four courses, explaining the DELE system and its equivalence with CEFR levels. The activities are also the same in the four courses. All that varies from one course to the next is the final examination, which focuses on the CEFR levels covered by the course at issue.
  • Training units specific to each exam (DELE A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2, A1 for students or A2/B1 for students).
  • Test analysis and structure.
  • Test administration.
  • Marking scale for the oral test.
  • Illustration workshop.
  • Marking workshop.

DELE accreditation course offering

The accreditation courses, designed by the Cervantes Institute’s Accreditation and Certification Department, may only be delivered by the Institute’s centres abroad and its Academic Division  in Spain.
