Description

Test format The test comprises five exercises with a total of 25 multiple-choice (three closed options) or true/false questions on Spain’s Constitution, society and culture.
Duration 45 minutes.
N.º of questions 25

Exercise format Multiple-choice questions with three options, only one of which is correct; or true/false questions.
Type of texts used in questions Texts adapted to ensure most of the grammatical structures and vocabulary are accessible to candidates (a glossary of CCSE terms is available).
Length of questions: from 30 to 40 words per complete question.
Administration The test is written on four pages containing the questions and possible answers to be selected by candidates.
Marking Correct answers receive 1 point and incorrect answers 0 points.  Neither incorrect answers nor questions left blank are penalised.
To pass the test candidates must answer 15 of the 25 (60 %) questions correctly.
 

Test structure

The CCSE test is divided into two major sections:

  • Government, legislation and citizen participation in Spain (60 % of the questions).
  • Spanish culture, history and society (40 of the questions).

Both the test instructions and the questions themselves are written in contemporary peninsular Spanish.
