Candidates need not attend any special course or use any specific materials to sit the CCSE test. The Cervantes Institute provides candidates the cost-free materials listed below to prepare the test, available on the links found in the section ‘Related files’ below.

- Sample CCSE test: The Cervantes Institute furnishes users with a sample CCSE test in PDF format.
- CCSE exam guide: the CCSE exam guide is designed for Spanish as a foreign language professionals, candidate trainers, advocates and candidates seeking detailed information on the exam.
It includes a description of the CCSE test structure and constituent exercises, marking system and administrative arrangements. - CCSE test preparation manual: the Cervantes Institute furnishes candidates with a CCSE test preparation manual. This manual contains 300 questions, any of which may appear on a given year’s test. In all, 25 % of the questions in the manual for the 2020 test available on this website are new, i.e., not included in the 2019 version. The contents and questions listed will be used for all the 2020 tests, beginning in January.
